Status of Competitive Raiding Circuit

The deadline for signing up for this 6 week event has passed and it is with much regret that I have to inform everyone that I have to put aside running this event for now. The event structure called for 4 teams of 3 to participate, and at the deadline, this requirement was not met.

Six out of the available twelves spots were requested, and first and foremost, I want to thank the six individuals who took the initiative to sign up. They supported the event and were enthusiastic to join, and I know they must be very disappointed to learn that I will not be running this event. I deeply apologize for that.

I was in the process of writing a long explanation as to why this event won’t go on, but I decided to delete it all and keep the statement simple: a competitive raiding event the way I envisioned on NA was just a pipe dream.

2nd Competitive Raiding Test Event

For the second test event leading up to the official start of the Competitive Raiding Circuit, I am looking for three players to party with me during Gronco buff on Friday January 15th, 2021 and do a run through of all events that will be featured in the competition; The events are:

Hidden Hideout
AoV Manic
Skyclock Palace
Primal
AoV Hard Solo Relay

There will not be a pre-determined amount of runs we will be doing. The purpose of the test event is to get a preview of the events as well as look for any potential hazards that can affect official competition.

The testing is expected to last the entire duration of Gronco buff and will be streamed and recorded through my twitch channel.

The compensation for being a part of this test event will be 33,333,333 dz.

If you are interested in being one of the three players to help me test, please stop by my twitch chat at https://twitch.tv/dv8playsgames and let me know. You can also send me a PM on discord if you are in the Officlal SW Discord or in my discord.

The list of players that are part of the test will be updated here:
Playtester #1: PeepoClown
Playtester #2: Snakey (on Haru)
Playtester #3: Kaichukek

The Chii A-Rule

While I am compiling the rules for the competitive raiding event, one of the hardest issues to decide on is whether there should be a limitation placed on team compositions. After much thought and internal debate, I can give everyone a preview of a rule that will be in place for the official competition.

Players must register as a team of three and keep the same team of three for all weeks of competition. Each team member must play a different class; in other words, a team may not compete with two of the same class or a party of all the same class.

It is with a heavy heart that I implement this rule. The last thing I want to do is limit teams to express themselves or keep friends from teaming up because they play the same class, but this is a rule that I must uphold. The limitation is not necessarily placed on the class Chii Aruel, but on her ability Claws Out. Claws Out is a unique ability among all skills in Soul Worker because of its combination of low cooldown, quick cast, high damage, and fast activation. Another skill like this when analyzing the kits of all classes is either rare or non-existent. Therefore, the limitation is not placed on Chii Aruel, as much as it is to limit one Claws Out user per team. Since I am limiting a skill to one user per team, I will take the step further and announce the rule as each player plays a different class.

I want to thank all competitors for understanding.

Preliminary Details: NA Competitive Raiding Circuit with 2 Billion dz Prize Pool

I was so happy with the turn out during the first test event, both in terms of competitors, viewers, and how smooth the competition went, that without hesitation, I am announcing a competitive circuit with a prize pool of 2 billion dz. Many details are still to come, but I can release some preliminary ideas and details right away.

Four teams of three members each will compete in five weeks of events to earn the most circuit points. Top 2 scoring teams will face of in the finals to take home the grand prize of 900,000,000 dz.

Teams will compete in one event per week from the following list:
Hidden Hideout (2 attempts, fastest clear time)
AoV Manic (5 attempts, fastest clear time)
Skyclock Palace (5 attempts, fastest clear time)
Primal (3 attempts, fastest clear time)
AoV Hard Solo Relay (one run per team member, fastest cumulative clear time)

Teams will earn points based on their placing each week and ranked according to their cumulative points.

Championship Finals Details:
The finalists will be the two teams that finish with the most circuit points after five weeks of competition. The finals will be a best of three format running the same events as the weekly competitions. Before the finals begins, each team will remove one event from the event pool. Then each team will pick one event they want to compete with. If after these two events, there is a tie, then the last, unchosen event, will be the tiebreaker to determine the champion.

Prize Breakdown:
Each team will receive 30,000,000 dz on completion of the week’s events.
The third place team after completing the fifth week of competition will receive an additional 60,000,000 dz.
Making it to the finals guarantees a prize of 450,000,000 dz.
The champion will receive 900,000,000 dz.

Prizes dz Breakdown:
1st Place: 900,000,000 dz + 150,000,000 dz in weekly participation compensation
2nd Place: 450,000,000 dz + 150,000,000 dz in weekly participation compensation
3rd Place: 60,000,000 dz + 150,000,000 dz in weekly participation compensation
4th Place: 150,000,000 dz in weekly participation compensation
Total: 2,010,000,000 dz

Approximate start date will be around Friday January 22nd to give people time to form teams. As for actual competition dates, I would like to talk to competitors beforehand before setting dates.

Information on rules, sign up and dates will be released soon. As always, if you have questions or comments, please find me during my live stream at https://twitch.tv/dv8playsgames

Please read the full info page before participating.

As some of you may have already heard from my stream, I will be hosting weekly competitions that will pit teams of 3 against each other to compete for the fastest clear time in raids such as Hidden Hideout and Viilor’s Altar. Many players have enhanced their weapons and equipment to the max, so while we’re in a lull state preparing for the next raid, I believe now is the perfect time for players to compete on an even playing field.

The first event will be a test event. Two pre-set teams of 3 will compete to clear Hidden Hideout as fast as possible. Each team will get two attempts. Fastest time wins! For the test event, there will be no grand prize; rather, each participant will receive 20,000,0000 dz. When official competition begins, a larger prize pool will be announced.

I would like to invite anyone who cleared Hidden Hideout in less than 3 minutes either this week or last week to be a team captain and let me know they are interested in forming a team for the test event. Based on last week’s ranking list and the beginning of this week’s, the players that qualify to be a team captain are:
Cloudream
Lily
Holopscion
Amethyste
Xecity
irfat
Mimiy
PeepoClown
Kaichukek
Snakey
Suiitoshii
Chiil
DiosDeEspada
VeloVie

If you are on this list and wish to participate in the test event, please let me know through https://twitch.tv/dv8playsgames or my discord, which can be found at the stream link. Team captains will be selected on a first come, first serve basis. Once you have been accepted, you will be required to notify me of the members of your team before the day of the competition. Only the team captains must be on this list; the members they choose to make up the team do not have to be. Please read the following rules before requesting to join:

Rules

  1. Teams are 3 so that I (dv8playsgames) can join the party and record the run.
  2. Team captains will be selected on a first come first serve basis.
  3. In the event that dv8playsgames, as the camera person, interferes with the run, a solution will be decided on the spot.
  4. Any stat boosting items, such as scents, pills, plants, ARE STRICTLY FORBIDDEN. My goal is not for competitors to incur a huge cost for participating, so this rule is in place in order to create a fair playing ground for all participants.
  5. Healing consumables, stamina recovery items, sf recovery items, are allowed as long as the consumable itself does not provide any stat boosting effects
  6. If a run is bugged, laggy, or facing “desync”, the team can choose to finish the run in order to collect drops or abandon and the time will not count for the competition.
  7. If a player disconnects during a run, their team will get an opportunity to try one more time. Any disconnect after that will be classified as a lost attempt. Please make sure your gaming conditions are stable if you decide to participate in this event.
  8. dv8playsgames will serve as the referee for the event. Any misconduct will not be tolerated and may result in a warning or disqualification.
